I’ve been drawn back in to fantasy fiction this year and I’m full of admiration for the writers who create these other worlds for me to escape into.

My observation of today’s prompt is how rarely I have a reason to use the word license in everyday conversation. Vastly different from when I worked in libraries a decade ago and seemed to constantly be referring to what our licences allowed (or more often didn’t!)

Spent the morning dog walk photographing fallen leaves. Such an abundance of colour - perfect for my next watercolour class on colour matching 🎨

No hockey to play for me today so I’m up and on the sofa ready to watch England’s Red Roses 🌹 vs France 🐓 at the Rugby World Cup before I head out to help do the subs on the sideline for our 3rd team. It is sport Saturday after all.

Currently reading: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss 📚

I’m finally ready to read this which was a gift from a friend 5+ years ago. Only a few pages in and seeing the influence of Ursula le Guin makes me think I’ll enjoy it.

My contribution to micro.blog’s a day in the life. Picture taken on my daily walk in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK (11:11AM GMT+1)

Managed to limit my spending in Barter Books 📚
